Dubbed "The Jewel of Robeline" by the Natchitoches Times, the two story structure, which has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places, boasts a lovely entry foyer and 12-foot ceilings.  The generously proportioned rooms offer lovely views from the many windows along with antique shopping throughout the house. Built in 1850, the house originally was part of the Ellzey plantation, about a mile outside of the village of Robeline. When the railroad was built in 1885 the entire house was dismantled board by board and moved by horse and wagon to Its present location. The process of rebuilding the house took 4 years and the owner operated the house as a three story hotel with one bathroom and an outdoor kitchen. In Its checkered history it has been variously a hotel, a boarding house and a private home. Today it is a lovingly restored Bed and Breakfast. The current owners, John and Paula Jarvis, undertook an extensive interior renovation and restoration in 1994. The restoration included modernization of the plumbing and electrical systems and the addition of central air and heating systems.

During the restoration process, one half of the second floor was converted into a master suite with a fireplace and deluxe bath and dressing area complete with Jacuzzi and separate shower. Upstairs, the large proportions of the entry hall are repeated with accommodations for an additional  bedroom or suite with a private bath. Relax with a good book or a cup of coffee on the gallery that runs the entire width of the second floor and is directly accessible from both suites as well as the second floor landing.

Downstairs are the Green Room and the Blue Room, both of which are beautifully furnished with half tester beds and period antiques. Between the rooms, which can be rented separately or as a suite, is a large bathroom with a claw foot tub. Relax in front of the television, on one of the galleries or in the spacious glassed-in porch where you will find comfortable seating and jigsaw puzzles. This is truly a home away from home.
