Partake of a full Southern breakfast in the sunny breakfast room overlooking the grounds and bird feeders.  This room was originally a canning room that led off of the kitchen where the last owner of the home did all of her seasonal canning. In the home's early days, there was no interior kitchen. The kitchen was located away from the house to protect it from fire. When the servants lined up to bring the steaming platters into the dining room, they were required to whistle as they walked. The conventional wisdom was, that if they were whistling, they weren't eating the food!

Louisiana coffee is served at 7 A.M. and breakfast at 8:30 A.M.
